Question 6 spd NOISY.....time for new fluid?!

I have a 6 spd in a 96 z28 and just lately I notice a LOT of noise coming from my gearbox. I am saying it is coming from there because I can flip up the ashtray cover and I can hear the noise get LOUDER, then flip it down and it quiets it down a LITTLE. It grinds 2nd gear when I get on it hard too but I have a new high pressure plate, clutch, throwout, ect. I have a short shifter on it too. The noise is related to the speed I go whether the clutch is in, or out, or in neutral. Is the noise normal? THANKS-

You might be low on fluid. The T56 HOWLS when fluid is low/empty.

If its grinding though, sounds like you'll be looking at a rebuild in the near future.

Thanks bro, I think when I go to get my wheels balanced I am going to get the fluid changed too. I think it sounds like a rebuild too.....lol ---
