Lately I've been having a hard time getting it into 5th, the gear feels like it's really far out and I have to shove it really quickly with a fair amount of force to get it in gear, otherwise it usually grinds the gear......also had it get stuck "between" gears the other day, had to pull it pretty hard to get it out and then into a gear.

I assume it needs a rebuild, or will in the very near future, with this info what should I look at replacing?

tranny has about 110,000 miles on it

 

Bearings and synchros are a must, but I wouldn't recommend anything else unless it's either broken or you want aftermarket stuff.

 

how often do you use 5th?....i use it about once a month, i can lug 6th down to 40 if i need to
