i had a question on down shifting in to 5th. i cant do it, i push it in the the 5th posintion and nothing it won't go in is this a regular thing with the t56 or maybe the skip **** eliminator modual please help thanks

 

The skip shift only effects second gear. As far as the 5th thing. Are you in between gates? Try letting the clutch up a little bit to 'jog' the syncro. Or try to give it throttle, maybe will float in.

I've never had a problem w/ anything above thrid in my smoked T56. You might be catching the side of the blocked reverse gate.

 

The tranny I got for my car a couple months ago has a bit of a problem with 5th too, but it's ONLY on the UP-SHIFT for me! From 4th to 5th, I have to either double-clutch, or really play to "find" 5th gear . And yet DOWN-SHIFTING from 6th to 5th works like a charm?! The gear is exactly "where" it should be ... no fighting to "find it". But again, 4th to 5th is a "no go" on any first attempt . I don't understand what causes these types of problems .
