4th Gear Not Sticking....
When I have the clutch in and put the car into any gear except 4th it sticks until I let the clutch out like it should. But with the clutch in I pull towards fourth and let go and it goes right back to center. If I hold it and let the clutch out it is fine. Is there a gate (?) there that can be replaced?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: 4th Gear Not Sticking....
Anyone have any idea on this. Or better yet, I was thinking of getting a short throw shifter. Does anyone know if that will fix my problem if I get a Pro 5.0?
Thanks again!

Re: 4th Gear Not Sticking....
There's a 1-2 & 3-4 "shift link, Z-link, Gate" you choose
But honestly it could be many things. Just pull the case off and take a look (easier said than done). What ever you do don't force it into gear you can cause allot more harm than good that way.

I will post an update to my own old message. I thought the problem had gone away because it was working great over the summer. Well, first sub freezing day here in Ohio and the same thing is happening again. It has new fluid so it's not that. I will just live with it over the winters, don't drive the car much anyway. Just posting this in case someone else has the same problem.
Re: 4th Gear Not Sticking....
your collar is not stayingon the gear. the blocking ring might be to blame, as well as a bent shift fork or something weird of the sort. this is not uncommon. not that it may have anything to do with your problem, but 4th gear isn't driven by the countershaft gears like the other 5 gears are, as well as reverse. so thats why diagnostics very soo much. every transmission i know of has one gear that it straight through, hence the ratio 1:1. it uses no torque multiplication through the counter gears. Often you'll find problems with certain gears and then you'll find that your 1:1 ratio gear will not be having these problems. that is a good indication that your countershaft gears have a problem. same goes the other way around. for a little more countershaft info, read the newer post of a guy having the same problem. i wrote up a little more detailed on gear thing. your problem is probably in the collar/fork are itself, but it never hurts to have a little more knowledge.
