4l60e trouble

having problems with this stinkin transmission shifting to third. it will bounce off rev 3 or 4 times before shifting.. 1-2 is fine and 3-4 is fine. and i know very little about auto trannys. could this be from an improper fluid level? it might be over filled a little... i have TCI internals and a B&M shift kit, stock converter. this is killing my 1/4 mile time. i know this car is capable of 12s, but it just wont shift 2-3 when wide open. i have to let off for it to shift. but thats just as bad.. any help is appreciated, chris

Its possible you just have the shift point set to close to the rev limiter , You do need to bear in mind theres alot more going on with the 2-3 shift than there other gears its a more comlicated and uses and overlap apply-one conponent while releasing another. So it hydraulically takes a little more time to complete. Sometimes thats not accounted for in tuning and all the shifts are set to happen at the same RPM and of course that may not work on the 2-3.

try setting the shift sooner instead.
