4L60E tranny pan leaking

Sorry, prolly a newbie question here. Got a 4L60E transmission pan leak. Had trans gone through by tranny shop - OK. Installed tranny, filled with fluid, drove 5-10 miles, parked it overnight, trans fluid all over the garage floor. Refilled with fluid, took to tranny shop, checked pan gasket, replaced pan gasket, refilled with fluid, drove 10-15 miles, parked overnight, fluid all over garage floor again. What's going on here? Leak appears to be solely from the pan gasket (i.e., nothing coming from above the pan). Does not appear to be warped in any way. Is there something available OTHER than a cork gasket? Planning to take car back to tranny shop in the next day or two. Trans shifts are firm but not neck-snapping/stall is stock at 1400.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

This can happen when the bolts get over tightened and the gasket gets squished outward.

Re: 4L60E tranny pan leaking

Yeah, that was my initial thought except that I took it back to the transmission shop and they put another pan gasket on it so I would like to assume they know what they are doing.

I'm doing a test as week speak. I filled the tranny (again), took it for a ride, warmed it up real good, and let it sit now for several hours, monitoring for any leaks that develop - none so far. Don't know if it's possible that it could've sealed itself (seems unlikely), but hey, I can always hope.

Thanks for the thoughts,

Greg
