4L60E or TH400??

4L60E or TH400??

Someone once told me they had both the 4L60E and TH400 trannies in Camaro's...is this true? If it is how do i tell what one i have?

They had 4L60Es and 700R4's (4L60's). The 4L60E is the electronic version of the 700R4 and the 700R4 was only installed on 93 cars. All newer cars got the 4L60E's. No Th400.

1990 was the last year the TH400 was in a production vehicle, the 1990 454SS had them.

ops yea not the TH400 i ment the 700R4 like you said.


So i have the 4L60E Right? That is what i thought but i just wanted to make sure cause i am ordering about a 1000 bucks in tranny upgrades tom.

94+ 4L60E

93 - 4L60, prety much a 700R4 with a different case conector.
