4l60e shifting issues

so i was driving to florida a couple years ago, tranny fluid was leaking, pretty sure i burned up the bands before i caught it. if i go above 3000 rpms in first or second it would jump out of gear and just rev.

so i drove it like this for a little while, car sat for years, and just recently brought it back out. when car warms up i would completely lose second gear, first would be fine, then i would have to sreep past 20 mph til it shifted into third and all would be fine. soemtimes it would accelerate fine ythrough second gear, sometimes it would do what i just described.

now tonight i was driving, and after the car warmed up i lost first and second, car doesn't want to go anywhere it just slowly creeps and takes min utes to get to thrid gear then all is fine for 3rd and 4th. gets to the points of where i actually get no power at all in first .

is my tranny dead? need some advice or maybe any kind of quick fix for temp purposes.

also i should mention that one of the tranny lines had a hole in it and a section was cut out and replaced with rubber line a few years back, has held though.

Also thorough all this i maintain reverse no matter wat

sounds like your 1-2 solenoids are going, try getting it to an autozone or advanced auto,

they are $31 each, and while your in there id change the filter too, its $10 for the gasket with filter..

if that doesnt fix it, your gonna need a new trans, advanced has rebuild kits for $150

Had the same loss of first and second, so I started tearing it down (already put in a new Performabuilt unit.) Forward clutches were toast, as was the 1-2accumulator, and I haven't even finished pulling it apart yet. Count on putting the rebuild kit to use.

so i took it for a lil spin, and punched it to try and beat a red light and didnt so i stopped and when i went to accelerate i had 1st and second gears back... still slips at high rpms but i think its just a temp thing i'll still be rebuilding it soon
