4l60 Linkage problem

1993 car 4l60 transmission the linkage that goes to the shift selector peice on the transmission, it keeps popping off of the transmission its a plastic push on peice, is there anyway to just fix the peice or is the only option to buy another cable?

Sorry if im not making any sence on it not positive of the correct term for the metal arm that makes the transmission shift gears.

I know exactly what you are referring too. I agree that a new bushing had been availible. But it may be just as cost-effective to replace the entire cable. Just more work =) I had my original one break a long while back and opted a new cable.
