I had my tranny rebuilt about a year ago with better than stock insides. Since that point, I haven't really run my car hard, just kind of putted around using it mainly as my daily driver. Well, on the way home from work, cruising at 55, I go to accelerate to exit the hwy. The car free revs like it is in nuetral. I have no gears, forward or reverse. The car will roll if placed in any gear except Park. I checked the fluid (like I do on regular intervals) and it still has a bright red appearance and does not smell burnt. The car sarts fine and idles fine. The shifter still feels stiff, like the cable is still connected and will still go from Park to other gears, it just won't move. Any ideas on what this could be? It might just be your shift solenoids......I lost 2nd and 4th gear not too long ago. Changing these gave me all 4 gears back.
