4L60(700r4) to T56 Conversion Help

Hey guys,

I've been seriously considering doing the swap of my A4(4L60) in my 93 Z to a T56. The only problem that I am having is that all the instructions that I am finding online are for swapping a 4L60E to a T56.

I was wondering if anyone knew if everything hooked up all the same with the electronics and such.

Thanks.

I just did it in my 93 Z28. Everything is exactly the same, except a couple of the wires you have to connect in the interior are different colors than 94+, I looked at the diagrams in a Haynes to figure it out, not hard. You'll also need to wire up a Dakota Digital speedo recalibration box($80) to make the speedo work with a 94+ T56, not necessary with a 93 T56. I still haven't wired the speedo yet so i can't testify to the dakota digital box yet, though it is supposed to work.

Awesome thanks...couldn't the dealership maybe do that? I already know that I will have to re-program the computer(which is what I would do from the dealership) so wouldn't that correct the speed-o problem?

Thanks for your help.
