4:30 gears with forced induction - 6 speed???

I have a 94 camaro z28 m6. I currently have the 10 bolt with 4:10 gears. Next summer I'm getting a 12 pound procharger installed. Also a 12 bolt. I was wondering would 4:30 gears be a good combo with a s/c??? I'm running drag radials so the tires will be sticking unlike street tires. Anybody have this combo or 4:30 gears. I'm looking for something to really throw me back into the seat also is 430 gears a noticable difference the 410s???

Even with sticky tires I have no idea how you would ever get traction with those gears and 12 pounds of boost. It would be hard enough as it is with stock gearing. If anything I'd recommend going back to 3.73's or something. That would atleast help you retain some of your traction. 4.30's would be awesome on a mild or stock car but I think they'll be just too much under boost.

The issue is traction. I'm running drag radials???? If the tires stick whats the problem with the gear???

If it's for the track, you will never get through the traps without shfting into 5th, so it's too much gear. It's also too much for the street, as even with DR's you will not hook it up on an unprepped surface. Blower cars with the M6 do best with 3.42's or 3.73's.

You will not hook up with DR's, 12lbs of boost and 4:30's. You won't with 4:10's and probably 3:73's either. With 12lbs, i'd run 3:73's and when at the track, at least a set of ET streets or straight out drag slicks. I run 3:73's in a moser 12bolt with ET streets. Launching at 3000rpm on the bottle and am pulling 1.6 60ft's. Better get a street twin while your at it too.

My buddy is running 8psi on his ls1 making a little over 500hp to the wheels and he runs 430s, on 315 nittos the car gets sideways all the way through second gear. To run that gear and expect to hook on the street you'll need et streets at minimum

Yeah how does that gear feel. I mean does it throw you back into the seat. Most people say from a roll you take off

It's crazy, definetly puts you back in your seat. I can't imagine what it would feel like hooking in first gear.
