4.10s vs 3.73s M6(pros and cons)

I STILL CANT MAKE UP MY MIND

Im hearing very good arguments on both sides...how much faster is 4.10s than a 3.73 from a low roll (10-20m.p.h) and then how are they from higher roll(30-40)..by when do 3.73 start pullien 4.10s

okay if you get 2 equal cars and one has 4.10 and the other 3.73
and they race from 10-125m.p.h who would probly win...

also how are the 4.10s in the city (daily driver), do you ever bounce off the rev limiter when you race (mostly in 1st gear)/how is the traction issue (plan to get nitto 555r 275)/ gas mileage

thanks

I went with 4.10s, coming from a 3.42. I was somewhat hesitant, but I am glad I did it. Well, atleast now I am. I hit the track next Wednesday, we will see if I am still happy then Damn fun car now though!

I had 4.10s in my 95 m6, they were like driving a truck with a granny gear around town and buzzed the motor on the highway even with the .50 top gear. I also subsequently blew them up, because 4.10s in a stock 7.5 is asking for trouble. and went to 3.73's, much better, better milage and drivabillity, also better if you dont rev higher than stock through the traps.

im leaning toward 3.73s now....cuz i heard that the 3.73s start catching up and starts pulling the 4.10s at 80m.p.h(is that true)

two equal cars, with stock cam, the 4.10s will be shifting into 5th gear probably, that and it would be best to start in 2nd gear in the 4.10 so it could hook, the 3.73 would probably be better in that case. if we are talking a car that reaches 125 in the 1/4 mile, than thats great, redline through the traps is good, but unless you are reprog'ed with a larger cam it wont happen

thats not true its funny.

if i had it to do all over again i would go 4.33s not 4.10s and run a 28 inch tall tire. but i love the 4.10s. remember traction is a issue. they are both good gears. but 4.10s rule in a m6.

i aint talkien about 1/4 mile, just 10-125mph ...so in that case the 4.10s also are better from the highway since it hits its top speed faster..(due to 6 speed)

I like the 373's a lot, an improvement over the stock 3.42's. They are an excellent compromise. The 4.10's will out accelerate the 373's with adequate traction, ie bigger tires. For a street/strip car, 4.10's would be the choice. I may try that gear one of these days.

i had stock 3.42 and on the highway in 6th the car would almost bog! went with 4.10s and i love them 6th is actually pleasant now only like 2200 at 70. no matter what if you have stock tires the 4.10 i'll put you in the powerband faster than 3.73's. just not a big enough jump from 3.42 thats why i wanted 4.10's
