4.10's in A4

Currently, I have a stock 3.23 rearend... I was wondering if 4.10's would be worth the money.
Its a daily driver, about 1000 miles a month. I would say about 80% of those miles are on the street. I would just like to have better acceleration and dont care too much about sacrificing my top-speed, I really dont plan on ever taking it over 120mph.
I have tried searching to no avail, but most of the info is for m6's.

If i do go for 4.10's I need to get the 3-series gears because i have a 3 series carrier right? What else do i need aside from the gears? How long should the install take?

Would the tranny life be decreased by running this gear?
any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Unless you drive with drag radials all you will be doing is spinning with 4.10's. I just got my 3.73's in today, but it still needs another heatcycle or 2 before I can get on it, but I can already tell there is a huge difference.

You may want to go with 3.73. I had 4.10's and it tachs real high & helps to kill MPG too. You will have a definate problem with getting traction with 4.10's. ANd when you finally get it to hook up, you'll break the stock 10 bolt rear. I had the same problems. Broke the rear, said forget it and put in 3.73's.

As far as I'm concerned, if you drive a car like this- who cares about MPG? I love my 4.10's in my A4 car. My car only spins because my Drag radials are 2 years old and are not sticky anymore.

Choose your gears based on the tires you wanna run at the track. I use 28" tall ones with mine, when I'm not on my 17x11's.
