3rd gen and 4th gen diff's interchangeable?

3rd gen and 4th gen diff's interchangeable?

Just wondering if my posi unit out of my 94 ta will work in my friends rear 10-bolt 1990 camaro. thanks

yes it will given that the series of the carrier matches that of the gear. what ratio was it in the TA? and what ratio does he want to run in the camaro?

Thats cool, I thought it would be. thanks for the reply. I am putting my posi in place of his open diff., and installing new 3.73 gears.

I thought that 3rd gens had 26 spline axles and 4th gens had 28 spline axles. Not interchangable.

in '88 the splines changed to 28 spline
