alright so sometimes when i'm coasting in neutral, and try to get into 3rd, my trans. grinds and it wont let me into 3rd. its weird because this doesn't happen all the time and never happens if i'm going 2nd to 3rd. itll only happen sometimes when i go from neutral to 3rd. ive searched but my problem isnt exactly like what ive found. i hope its not a synchro problem cuz that **** sounds expensive to fix. thanks!

 

outside of shifter and clutch problems, most all grinding noises are from synchronizers. they only have one job. make sure your fluid is good. t-56's use dex 3 ATF. if very dirty or not the right fluid, the blocking ring faces can be damaged. they work hand in hand with the syncrhos. it's hard to determine without hearing or driving it, but just don't do any more neutral- 3rd shifting for now.
