3 series to a 2 series

Would a 2-series carrier and ring and pinion interchange into a factory 3-series housing in a '99 Z28.

Here's the story. Ive come across a great deal on swapping my A4, shifter and whatnot for TH350 setup. But currently I still need my '99 for a daily driver until I can get the title work straight on my lil Hombre and renew the tag.

Im not worried about getting the optimum drag racing gear into the car until im ready to pony up for the 9" setup.

I just wanna go ahead and get the TH350 in it and an "airplane" gear so I dont shoot myself on mileage, lol.

No they are not interchangable. 2 series gear with 2 series carrier and three series gear with three series carrier. Or you can put a 3 series gear on a 2 series carrier with the addition of a spacer.

However if you meant 2 series carrier + gear with 3 series carrier +gear then yes!

Re: 3 series to a 2 series

I wanna put both the carrier and appropriate gear for the carrier in the car. I want to put a 2.73 gear in my car and im wondering if I have to get the 2 series carrier, and if so... will if fit in this '99 Z28 rear.

All help is appreciated!
