3.73's howling

I recently just put in a posi/carrier and 3.73's. I had 2.73s before this. My question is how much howl should be expected from used 3.73's? They have about 500 miles or less.

Acceleration is fine ( a monster now) but deacceleration from about 45 mph to 25mph there is a lot of howling. When I get back onto the gas and put on a load, howl disappears. There is some howl in other mph regions but nothing compared to the 45-25 deacceleration.

Does anyone think that this area of howl can be eliminated, if so, how and does your reasoning have anything to do with the used gears? I believe the gears may be Strange.

Re: 3.73's howling

could be weight shifting to the front shocks, and that shift is enough to mess up pinion angle? I wouldnt go tearing everything apart until some other guys post, but it's just my little thought...

no
all you need to do is adjust your rearend gears. roll a pattern on them and see because there is an acceleration side of the gear and a decell.
