3.73's and 2800 stall = ?MPG

i have a 97 SS with an A4 and 3.23's and a bunch of bolt on stuff. i do a lot of combined driving city/highway about 400miles a week and i get anywhere between 16-18mpg right now. if i switched to a 2800 stall and 3.73's what would that do to my mileage and driveability.

Yes, thats all hiway though.
The stall does come into play on the hiway, the TC locks up.
Now around town it is a different story.
And when I had the stock 3.23s and stock stall I was getting 28 MPG so I did lose quit a bit with gears and stall.

15 city 20-24 highway.

That's w/ 3000 stall, 3.73's, and a healthy heads/cam package.

3200 stall and 3.73's and I get 17MPG in the city. Haven't really done a full tank on the highway for quite some time.

That's with P&P'd heads/intake, cc306, headers, blah blah blah.

What's up Joe?

Stall and gears huh. That'll be a little bit of a difference. I've still got stock stall, but with the 3.73's I get 22 highway, and 19 in town. Hopefully a stall will be going in soon.

I HAVE THAT EXACT SAME COMBO

I get from 275miles to the tank to 200 depending on how nice I am driving! That translates from 14 to 18mph more or less!

I get about 15mpg on a mixture of city and highway driving. That's with a 396 (CC306), 3.73's, and a 3200 stall. I get about 9 mpg if a try to have too much fun

Man, why is my gas mileage so bad? I get 220 miles from a full tank with new Opti and spark plugs. My car is mostly stock with an MSD and stock 3.23 gears and converter. Those 315s outback cant be that bad. After the new fuel filter and plug wires go in, it better increase!

before i did longtubes i as gettin around 240 to a tank ith 3.23's and stock convertor. ive always had bad gas mileage. even on long trips on the highway from like wichita to KC(3-4hrs @70) the best ive ever gotten is 21mpg. and that was stock with no cats. i just dont want to do gears and stall and get like 10 mpg cause gas is expensive. i already got through like a tank and a half a week goin back and forth to school and everything.

Yo

I always see the word "Stall" on this board, but have no idea what it means... what the hell is a "Stall"

Sorry... L0L

I am fairly new to Firebirds considering i'm getting mine next week (Hopefully). I want to learn and learn so I can take care of my **** myself when the time comes.

Thanks
