3.73 gear swap with series 2 carrier

I just wanted to make sure before I buy these gears that there is nothing else I will need. I am going to buy the Strange Pro Street gears, 3.73 carrier 2 from thunder racing with the gear install kit. Since they are for the series 2, these is nothing else I need to buy right, i.e reluctor ring, etc?

I know that there were a couple of guys on this forum who said they did the same swap, so any input would be appriciated.

I got the exact same set up from Thunder, the gears and kit are all you need. Contact the shop you're having do the install, they may want you to proved gear oil as well.. mine didn't.

actually I am going to do it with a friend of mine. He did his gears in a 2000 gmc 1/2ton a couple of months back, but I figure with a day or two of time, it will be worth the money I save and the knowledge you gain. All it takes is time.

It's been said before, invest in a 9inch or 12 bolt. I took my chaces and had 3.73s put in my 2 series carrier. Last night, 11 passes later it blew up, stripped the ring and pinion gears. I had a rear girdle that probably helped it live a little longer. I couldn't see spending 2 grand on something not yet broke so I just did gears. I'd like to have that money back to put towards something that will last. Not trying to spook you, but these 10 bolts are on borrowed time.

Rear girdle with the bearing cap stud kit helps some..
Also you might look into a Ratech Solid pinion spacer [20 bux about?] that helps also..
