3:73 ?
3:73 ?
i have a 94z with a rebuild trany with a slp tc i beleive its 2800 will i notice much of a difference with goin to 3:73's? i have 3:23's now , i do alot of highway driving so i don't know if this is a practical mod anyhelp would be great. thanks
I went from 3.23s to 3.73s and I have to say it was worth it.
I have a built 4L60E with a TCI 2600 converter and the 3.73s and its a screamer, with just CAI, LTs, programming it will beat lightly modded LS1s.
So I say yes do the 3.73s I don,t think you will be disappointed.

Hey revtime I'm installing a 2400 holeshot and tranny cooler next week. I also have 3:73's and wanted to know how many tenths I would probably knock off with the TC and some drag radials. I'm currently running 13.80's @102 with a 2.2 60' ft. I gotta get that 60' ft down.
I would say you will hit 13.6s with that combo maybe 13.4s with good 60 foot.
You may not see a MPH increase though with the TC.
I ran a 13.6@104 with a bad fuel pump and 2.0 sixty foot.
Going to the track tonite with good fuel pump and decent weather to see if I can get it into the low 13s.
I think I might actuallly have a handle on the suspension now so I might cut a decent sixty tonite.
Wish me luck.

I have yet to really heat up my Nittos, I plan on doing that tonite.
I roll up to the line and stall it a bit about 1500 or so just to load it up and then when the light comes down I let off the brake and roll into the throttle quickly.
If I just stomp on the gas it spins more than if I roll into it.
You really have to just practice with your car and see what it likes, some can just launch off idle and its all good then others really need to pedal it off the line.

i see thunder racing sells a kit for 399.99 is motion any good? also called a local drivetrain shop they wan 325.00 to install it . i drive alot on the highway how is the rpm's with this gear? thanks
I would tell you to go with 3.42s if you do a good deal of highway driving at 65mph or higher. 3.73s can suck some gas at the higher speeds. I do however reccomend 3.73s for the best performance increase , but the 3.42 is a good compromise.
Not sure if I would spend full price on a set of new 3.42s though.
Try to find them on ebay or from a friend for $75 bucks.

I have 3.73's in an A4 and am thinking about going to 4.10's...will this make my car faster in the quarter mile?? I am not worried about the gas mileage....i just want it to be fast....and does anyone know what it will tach at 60 mph??
i also have a couple questions.i think im going with strange 373 and i already have a billet 2800 stall but whats a crush collar spacer or sumthin like that, that thunderracing sells with the rateck gear installation kit.and which kit should i get the complete?
