3.73 in 6-speed

coorect me if im wrong but wouldnt it be kinda crappy having a 3.73 or higher rear end in a 6-speed car? im not seeing the benefit like there would be in an auto. wouldnt the higher rear end gear ratio make you have to shift more often in a 1/4 mile race? u might hit 5th gear no? what rear end gear ratios do most modded 6-speed fbodies street strip use?

Lots of guys opt for 4.10's behind the T56! The beauty of double over-drive is you can still get the same mileage as an A4/2.73 car, with the acceleration of M6/4.10!

It really depends on a number of things, like what mods the car has, what the rev limiter is set on, and just how fast the car runs the 1/4 in are all factors.

I have 4.11s, in a Moser 12-bolt.

For the automatic, plans are likely to keep replacing stock 10-bolts, with 3.73 gears (you can buy 10 or more 10-bolt rears complete for the price of 1 12-bolt).
