here's a dyno i did today on my 00 formula. there was a 13 rwhp and 24 rwtq loss from the swap.

 

you lost hp? wtf!!!!!

 

yeah. you lose torque, you lose hp. it takes less energy(torque) to turn the high numerical gears.

 

that didnt happen to me with my 3.73's, and I went from 2.73s.

 

did you change anything else at that time?

 

from the back? I got an aurburn posi 28 spline in there and changed all the shims and stuff. its a 2 series also.

 

no, i meant, did you add headers, do a tune at the same time, things of that nature.

 

yea i added longtubes with the y pipe. I still need to send it to ion so he can give it a tune. But im going to wait until my torque converter goes in.

 

that would be why you didn't lose.

 

i actually thought gears would help out. Y did u decide to go with the 4.10's instead of 3.73s especially on an auto?

 

because of my end result. it puts me right at peak rpms at the end of the track. just what you want. if i shift at 6500 rpms, i cross the beams right at 6400ish. i'll be putting a nice big cam that will need to be shifted at 6500 rpms. that and i'm doing some super secret testing with vinci high performance.

 

they don't help make power, they just help get you moving quicker.

 

oh I thought they would. I felt such a diff when I switched gears.
