2.73 to 3.73 = slower highway acceleration?

Just did a swap in my 96 A4 from 2.73 to 3.73. Acceleration from 0 feels awesome. Acceleration from 70 feels awful. Around 70 I'm in 3rd gear now. With 2.73 I could go to 2nd until almost 90. In theory I would pull harder to 90(from 70)with 2.73 than 3.73, but then pull harder from 90-115 with 3.73 than with 2.73. I would think this harder acceleration from 90 with 3.73 would make up the difference, but its not.

Raced a kid with a 95 Stang GT with my 2.73 I used to put 7 Cars on him from a 65-70 Roll going from 65-140. Now Its about dead even.

Reasons for this? I know I need a reprogram to fix shift points and converter lockup. Only mods hes done is FPR and Cat Delete. Needless to say I'm pretty pissed...Anyone have any ideas?

Get a tune. That should fix the lack in power you're feeling.

Coming dead even with a near stock 95 GT, ouch. Those things are slow, you should be stomping the crap out of him.
