are 1LE shafts loud? i think mine is
like i said i have noise coming fron under my car its driving me crazy. i had suck bad issues with my old steel shaft that once i put my 1le shaft in i wasn't really sure if this noise was related and i was happy for the time being because at least my car felt smooth. i saw pics of some guy's destroyed ls1 shaft and noticed the cardboard on the inside. and someone else on this board said that aluminum shafts amplify rear end noise. the 1le came out of an old IROC. i'm using the stock yoke with expensive u joints from inland driveline. My gears are stock 3.23's.
I just wanna know if its normal for these driveshafts to be loud. sounds like i'm driving a radio flyer with plasic wheels or something. or a perpetual rocking chair on a wooden floor. Also has anyone seen the inside of a 1le shaft? is there insulation? I'v also heard that laying dynamat all in the car helps with all the noise. how much dynamat would take? i'm kinda interested in the idea. It would be nice to able to hold a conversation and not have to shout.

Check and make sure the DS is not hitting the exhaust pipe as it spins. The ends of my 1LE DS are wider than on they are on my stock steel DS. The ends are also oval shaped so they only were hitting half the time, if you can picture that Hard to explian i guess. Just go jack up your car, put you car in neutral, and spin the DS. Make sure it spins freely.
Good luck
Good luck
