Angry 1999 SS Camaro tranny Instillation

I have a 1999 ss that I'm trying to get the tranny back into. I just installed a center force clutch. I have gotten to the point to were theres a half inch gap or so in between the tranny and the bell housing. I've took the clutch of 4 times to try alinging it with an alignment tool but that has not worked. Can somebody tell me if theres any tricks into getting it back in.

Thanks

I just had mine out last week. I made sure the clutch was lined up properly before torqueing down the pressure plate, and then I put the bellhousing back on. I got under the car on my back and heaved that son of a bitch up there, and had a friend hold the tailshaft. I slid the trans in place, and when it got close like that I had to rock it side to side, but it ended up sliding in after rocking it gently a few times.

On the LS1s I have heard that the motor tends to rock forward a bit when the transmission is removed, so I believe you can support the front of the motor and jack it up a half inch or so to get the right angle.
