1996 Z28 Camaro manual wont go into forward gears on shifter on or off

Was driving through intersection when I hit a bump, I tried to put it in third gear and it grinded. This was the start of the end of driving the car. I continued to use first second and fourth for a couple of miles traveling at about 40 at the highest speed. Next i had my car in first when it popped out, i tried to put it bac in by holding the shifter in first gear but it grinded. Then i started using 2nd to take off, but then it started doing the same for reverse so i culdnt bac my car up eventually. It started by jus popping out and then not going in at all, not even when the car was off. It now wont go into second with the car on but will allow when car is off! So it wont go into 1st third fifth and reverse( the forward gears on shifter) even when car is off but will go into 2nd fourth and sixth when car is off. It has an hd clutch and a hurst 8 ball shifter, I cant think of one thing it points towards tht is wrong!!! suggestions

Check your clutch/clutch fork. I'm thinking that's a good place to start; its a possibility that the fork may have moved and is not letting the clutch fully disengage.

I would pull the boot and look at the shifter.

Seems the clutch would affect all gears. Im betting if it isnt the shifter, its internal in the trans.

Good thought, could be a busted shifter as well; that may almost make more sense.

I'm voting for the clutch fork. Had this same exact problem in a Mazda MX-6 once and the clutch fork pivot bolt had broken. I could get it into any gear I wanted as long as the engine was off, but as soon as I cranked it, I couldn't pull it out of 1, 3, or 5 without a LOT of effort, then I couldn't get it back in no matter how hard I tried. I *could* put it in the slot and slowly let the clutch out as I pressed really hard on the shifter and make it move, but it wouldn't actually go into the gear and giving it any more throttle than it took to keep it running would only push the shifter back toward me.
