Friend has a complete 1996 vette 6-speed for sale $1000.00 should i buy it I heard they are way stronger than the T56 but need input!! I have tons of experience building crazy rides but need help with this one!! thanks

 

Tq. rating of the ZF S6-40 is 400-450 ft. lbs depending on application--the same as the 94 & later F-Body t-56. Parts and knowldgeable service shops for the T56 are going to be WAAAAY more available. Without knowing what you want to use the gearbox in, anything else would be guessing. HTH

 

thanks deuce i am building up a 67 camaro convertible sorry didnt specify the car i do have a 1994 mm6 or mn6 (i beleive that its also a t56) from 1994 camaro lt1 i can buy for $1000 also locally it has 60 000k on the odometer and he will guarantee it, better buy? price ok? its complete and available with the lt1 with complete wiring ecm etc for $2000 but i wanted to build the stroker cuz i have the following:1969 350 4-bolt, eagle 383 crank new flat top sealed power pistons, dart iron heads 2.02 int 1.60 ex, all arp hardware, edelbrock super victor int, holley 750 dp or 850(i have both) and was thinking bout road race profile cam and 4.56 gears. I drive real hard!! I did build a sweet 350 chev with similar parts and the cam was 540 560 325ish reed oval track solid lifter 1992 s-10 short box freakin' nasty!!!

As far as trans- as other poster stated- go with the t-56...parts much easier to find.
