12-bolt doesn't fit...need immediate help.

Specs: Moser 12-bolt with every option and 3-channel ABS (33 spline HD eaton, 1350 yoke, TA cover, etc)

I need this car running soon - I have a track rental coming up so I need this fixed ASAP

I just got the rear today, painted it, took the driveshaft and and axles to get the u-joint and axle bearings pressed on...came home and got to work.

I got everything in without any issues, U-joint has enough clearance and whatnot.

Got the wheels on, filled the rear w/fluid, and (on jackstands) with the wheels spinning, and heard a slight grinding sound coming from the driver side. Took the wheel off, and the BACK of the brake caliper (towards the housing) is rubbing against the rotor...there is no pad contact, just the rotor rubbing on the steel caliper. It is also very hard for me to turn the axles by hand (even with the brakes off). It seems like it's mainly on the driver side, as that axle was pretty damn hard to get in. I had to tighten the T-bolts and pull the axle into the housing that way.

AFAIK the 1/8" spacers were installed because I don't have any leftover parts..

Please help, I'm very frustrated and stressed

Re: 12-bolt doesn't fit...need immediate help.

Maybe too late to tell you this but I believe you use the spacers only with LS1 cars to compensate for the thick LT1 style backing plate/caliper mounts. Right now, you've offset the LT1 backing plates too far 'outwards' with that spacer (remember, the mounting surface distance from the center of the axle to the rotor remains the same nomatter how much offset is given on the backing plate) and now the caliper probably hits the rotor on the inside right? Try taking out the spacers, hopefully, you don't have to press the bearings out again. If you're finally pretty much sure that it's the spacers, then you can just cut them off.

Hope this info helps.

If anything, it would be caused by a LACK of spacers.

Another thign is, why the hell are the axles so hard to turn??

Moser had two different styles, not sure which you have (the mounting of the axles was different). Not sure why the axles are hard to turn. Can you space out the brake caliper?

I put 1/8" washers behind the rotors, and now everything is perfect. Rear is dead silent...

I tried sorta free revving it within the stall range, and it wouldnt go over 3000 RPMs and was popping and such. At this point I was questioning my presence at the track rental this weekend, but I filled it with gas since I heard my fuel pump getting very loud, and now it's fine

washers behind the rotors? Not too sure about that idea 'cos the rotor wont fully seat the axle.

Nope, it's still centered on the hub. I've had it up to 80mph and no vibrations...
