honest question: why do people think that if they just throw mods at the car it'll go quicker?

What was the weather, temp, BP, humidity?
How do the sixty foot times compare?
Were there any other changes?

everything was basically the same, it was just later at nite. 60's 1/8th's and 1/4's were all within .25. i guess they just didnt help. which SUX!!

ok,relax.

when i first went to 3.73's they actually slowed the car down 2/10's. After a few nights of playing with shift points, launch RPM's etc,i gained 1/10's over the stock gears.

Gears alone arent a major increase in most cases, they help with a total package.

You say the 60' time was within .25? Going from a 2.0 to a 2.25 60' could drop your ET by as much as .5 seconds. What was your best 60', before and after the gears?

Arrow Okay guyz, why compare an apple to an orange?

WEATHER affects a car more than any single thing. What you ran last week cannot compare with what you run 2 weeks later, with mods. The only way is to document all runs and compare them to corrected 'sea level' factors. You'll need a hand held racing computer for this or a program to install in your home computer.

I use a "Family Softare ET Predictor" kit that includes a Baro, temp and humid gauge. Along with this is a hand held computer. You punch all the info in and it spits out everything including alititude of the air you are running in. GOOD INVESTMENT!

By the way... I went from 3.23 -3.73 in Redtird and it was the most dissapointing mod I had made to that point. Basically,it gained little if anything. I later went to 4.10 and it got better, then to 4.56 and the 'lil red bird' ran pretty hard, especially on the big end!
