WOW, consistency with street tires.

Went to the drag strip tonignt. The car ran awesome, better than it ever has before. The track was well prepped and I managed to get some decent traction. I was cutting consistent 2.0 60' times and ran 5 runs at 8.62, 8.62, 8.66, 8.687, 8.60.
When I got beat in the second round, the guy ran a 8.242 with an 8.24 dial in. I ran a 8.622 with a 8.59 dial in. That guy was lucky because I raced him in the first round and he broke out by 3 tenths.

my secret was to stab the gas to spin the tires, helps get the trash off them. Then I'd hold the brake and let the revs climb to 1000RPM, when the light turned green I'd let off the brake and roll into the gas. The car would still spin a little, but when it hooked, it hooked. Also if I ran the left lane it would spin when shifting into second, so I ran all my runs in the right lane. Anyways, lots of fun at the strip tonight.

a lot of bracket racers sandbag, which leads to some massive breakouts if they totally miss their spot on the other car so from his perspective, you may have been the lucky one 1st round :P

somethin that might help ya if you bracket race often, is to get the TTS Datamaster data logging software and run it on a laptop in your car during time runs, it'll help you dial your car in, expecially since the engine temp the computer sees is different from what shows up on the guage
