Winter plans?

Whats everybodies plans for winter upgrades?

I know this for sure on my car:
Put the 9" in it
Put the cage/bar in it
Powerglide trans / 8" convertor
Bigger tire
Re-wire it

Engine wise not to sure:
406" with dart 215 heads pump gas engine
396" lt1 with afr 227's or sb2.2's race engine
current 350" lt1 with ported heads and cam

I have the short blocks done except the pistons on the 396" and I have the sb2.2 heads however the 2.2 path is much harder to take with header fabrication and messing around.

Or just sell it all!!!

For me, have Lloyd go over my 4-5 year old LE heads. He mentioned making some progress since mine where done back then. I wouldn't mind trying a new cam from him too. The 332/340 looks like it would be fun. Just don't know how much more the stock 31k shortblock can take. It's already at 480-490rwhp on the juice.
Plus I plan on cutting the weight of the car by a 100lbs.

trying to save some money, and of course hitting the track a bit since winter is the best time here in AZ, the D.A. finally comes down for a little, at least in theory, it was still up at 4000' on sat

I'm hoping to get my banged up car back together so I can just go out and run it again.

I only made it out twice this season before rolling it and we just haven't been able to find the time to get it back together. Hopefully the winter will help with that.

GOAL: ADD 100HP N/A AND ADD ANOTHER 100HP OF NITROUS.
Freshen bottom end
Freshen Trans
Head porting
Intake Porting
New "appropriate" camshaft for True Street nitrous use.
Refresh/Rebuild carb for new engine combo(by ProSystems Carbs)
Powdercoat intake and misc. pieces.
26" Rim/Tire setup for the rear OR add 4.10 gear.
Find weight to remove..
kick the tires
repaint engine bay with something glossy..haha

I'm considering selling my top end and changing the heads to try and gain a little more power but at the same time I don't want to put another 4-5000 in it and still be running 23* heads for a gain of maybe 50-60hp.

I've considered going the sb2.2 route myself.

well I was going to have a cage put in and do a heads and cam car and go for that record, but no, now I have to go back and kick butt on the bolt-on record so there may be no new things this winter other then hitting the dyno to get this thing optimized...

Tom, don't do the 406, that is what I have spec'd out and already talked to a few vendors about, but don't plan on having this year, so if you do it first then it looks like I am always on your heels, LOL

then again the 406 is only good for N/A applications there isn't enough meat there for any sort of P/A. And I was planning on going with heavily ported AFR's if I ever get it built...

Plenty of meat left when you run a bowtie block like I have. We've sprayed over 300hp to a stock 400 block with no issues or cracked blocks

Ahh, in that case your right, I thought you were talking about keeping the LT1, at least that is my plan... with the lt1 the thin walls and 1" CH pistons, is why I say no meat for P/A, but almost ideal for an all out N/A setup...

My winter plans began this weekend. Dropped the drive line and getting ready to put the 427 in.

If I really get on it I can have the car rolling by may. Chances are it won't be.
