Look at the guys sig. Seen quite a few guys with heads and cam claim that their cars are bolton cars when they are not.

since when did this become a thread about me? why are you so infatuated with me? dont like it, then dont read it. i put that in the sig just for peopl like you. normally listing the sig once per thread is enough but since you seem to like it so much Ill jus leave it on.

So infatuated with you? LOL I have made 1 comment about your sig! You can continue to call your heads/cam car a bolton car if it really makes you feel better about your cars performance.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were talking about someones signature line. I thought we were talking about the Mustang referenced by TransAmG2. What does someone's sig have to do with anything being discussed here?

Further, if you're going to discuss it, why did you quote his post - with nothing at all about his sig or bolt-ons - and then make the bolt-on/sig comment?

Whatever. I agree that heads/cam aren't typically what most folks call "bolt-ons" (and certainly not what I would consider bolt-ons), but I don't even begin to see the relevance to this thread.

What is the definition of "bolt on" then? Heads, cams, turbos, nitrous, and blowers all get bolted on with nuts and bolts. Rebuilding (boring, stroking) an engine requires machining which is not a bolt on.

I think you will find that most folks define "bolt-on" as external modifications - not including power adders. Headers, pulleys, gears, induction, ignition, and sometimes the intake itself are usually what compromise "bolt-on" mods. Rocker arms are also usually considered in the same category.

Different heads, cams, or anything else internal is generally not considered "bolt-on".

Another way to look at it is like this: If it doesn't touch oil, it's a "bolt-on".

Once again....power adders are not considered a "bolt-on" in the context of this discussion.

why?nitrous doesnt touch oil.If you have a self contained super chargerr that doesnt either. you have your definitions i have mine.potatoes, potahtoes.

Heads arent internal either. Im not sure if i really consider nitrous a bolt on but if someone says it is, im not gonna get all butt-hurt about it.

I'm not all "butt hurt" about anything. Consider what you wish. I'm telling you what *most* folks call "bolt-ons". If you don't fall into the "most" category, oh well.

BTW...if that is your definition, I can point you to 3 or 4 "stock" Fox-body Mustangs running in the 9's because they have stock cams. Two of them are NOS cars.

Ok. Still within your definition, I can know of 2 "stock" 5.0's that have run 11.4's. Both are N/A, and both have stock cams. Names are Mike Washington and Justin Burcham. I know of 3 others that have gone at least 11.8.
