I mounted mine outside the car behind the bumper cover. Its a FR switch and just drilled a hole thru the license plate area, cut and retapped the rod to shorten it. Its not a street car so i was not worried about weather and what not... same with the plate. I have a Chevy Tough plate that I just drilled a hole in and reinstalled, then put the handle back on.

I couldnt find anywhere in the rear hatch arear to mount it without welding up some custom brackets and I dont have a welder handy so i opted to mount it outside the car behind the cover. I ran the cables thru the rear of the car. I havent installed an alternator wire yet.

I dont know if yours will pass tech or not. It does say that the switch must kill ALL power to the vehicle. Although if they test it and your car shuts down they may not be inclined to look and see if your radio is still working.

I was gonna mount mine in the bottom of the rear well facing down with the switch type. since my cars still street driven I can switch it to off when its parked and not have to worry about someone trying to steal my car and its still accessible for the track.
