Post when to shift

I just posted but I remembered another question, at what rpms should you shift at I have a stock 1999 z28 6 speed, i just went to the strip wednesday for the first time and I was shift between 4500 and 5000 because I didnt feel I was getting anything out of shifting any later.
I was runnin 14.0 but my best was 13.8 at 102.73 mph, and my 60 ft was 2.1 to 2.5, which I heard wasnt that great.

Shift at 6000, but don't hit the rev limiter.

Red face

LS1s pull all the way to the red line. Shift it just before it hits the rev limiter and you'll run way better ET and MPH.
You may have to practice to find out where the limiter is because of the inaccuracy of the factory tachs. On our SS it's about 6150 indicated but on the Formula it hits at 6050 indicated. But bumping the limiter won't hurt anything. So go play and figure it out.
