What's a good 60' Time

Guys just seeing what your thoughts are on a stock 95 Z with 2.73 gears and an A4 should be cutting for 60' times?

This is a subjective question, but on street tires anything under 2.0 is good. With drag radials or ET streets the bar would be lower (quicker).

Yeah I ran in the 2.1 to the 2.2 range on all my runs on street tires. With a best et of 14.43. So do you all think that is pretty good for being 100% stock with a 2.73 gear and on a street tire?

With 2.73s and stock stall, it doesn't much matter whether you're running street tires, DRs, or a ET street, anything under 2.0 is excellent. I'd say the norm is prolly 2.0-2.1 but some have gotten 1.9Xs.

I just recently posted my new best 60ft in another thread. With my 2.73'd stock stall'd A4 car I went a all time best of 1.91 on DRs. That was leaving off idle. The norm for me was usually in the 2.0 range.

Yeah I think that I might be able to pull low 2.0's next time b/c the track wasn't in great condition when I went and it didn't seem that anyone was hooking that well. I guess we will have to see. COMNBYU I was just wondering what mods took you down into the low 1.9 range?

Ive got a 99 trans am with 3.23's,lid,K&N, hooker catback, and ascd ram air hood. I cant not hook for anything! I saw where a gu posted a few threads above that he lauches coming off idle.....well how quick do you get in the throttle, how much should I give it? I mean I ran a 01 lightning about a month ago that had chip, exhaust, boost bypass and ram air and I spun off the line all the way till like 25 or 30 when i hit second i hooked. I one by 1/2 the 1st time then the second time he got me by like 1 and a half. I stall it up just to where the rear end raises up then ill punch it about 1/4 off the line then floor it at like 15 then all hell brakes loose! But I have started getting a lil beter with practice. How much tire spin in ok.....I know any is more than you need but I dont want to be taking off too easy trying to limit wheel spin. Any help would be much appreciated.

TORCHREDZ-

The only real mods I have are K&N CAI and Exhaust. When the car was bone stock it would cut 2.0s on Bridgestone radials all day. After the intial CAI/Exhaust it wasn't much better, but still hooked dead up. I had switched to DRs by this time but the only reason I did that was for the N2O. It hooked fine on radials NA, but would spin on the juice. I just recently changed my exhaust set up a little and the first night I tested it out was last Fri(when I ran that 1.9 60). I have a hard time believing just a change in backpressure dropped my 60 that much, but who knows. All suspension is stock save for removal of the FR swaybar. Also, my launching technique has stayed the same- leaving off idle.

99PEWTER-

When I first got my car I tried several different techniques of launching. I found that for me, I got the best 60s/ETs by leaving off idle and matting it. I would get zero wheel spin on AND off the track. The car left hard as crap and felt good, it just wouldn't spin. I never complained though, that quick leave on the street won me plenty of races As far as your car, you have 3.23s, you'd be suprised how much of a difference that'll make with traction. The ONLY reason my car does what it does it because of the 2.73s. If I keep my car and put 3.73s in, I'm sure I'll be glad I have those DRs
