What will this run??

A BONE stock 98-00 ls1 A4 with 3.73 gears? I really want a 6 spd car, but they are so hard to find down here, so i guess I might haveto settle with a automatic and put some gears in it.
thanks Brad

i would venture to say mid-low 13's. but a lot depends on track elevation/weather and traction. i cant imagine it is too cool down in florida right now, so that aint gonna help u any....thats for sure.

by the way, dont doubt an A4 with a nice stall/gear/sticky tires

if u want to know what your car will run then why dont u just go RUN your car and see what it runs (and dont BS us with your traps and ET) thx Mooley. sorry it just dissapoints me to see people asking what we think it might run.. we dont drive it we cant feel the way it drives or shifts or anthing we have NO clue and it only costs like 25 to 30 bucks to run all night at the local drag strip. SO GO RUN YOUR CAR!!!... Mooley

Well if I had the car I would damn sure run it. Don't assume I'm bs'in times, or i will bs times, im not an internet racer. The reason I'm asking is because I'm going back and forth on deciding to get an auto, or a 6spd, just because the 6 spds are so hard to find down here.

Automatics are generally more consistent at the strip. They also are generally easier to launch with and to cut a good light. If your priority is racing at the drag strip I would go with an automatic.

6-Speeds, in my opinion, are more fun on the street and more effective in the corners. Heavy city use can be problematic but they are good on gas if you keep your foot out of it. Clutches are expensive and launching a six speed is tough on the driveline components. Choose your poison.

^^^ What he said...

You don't see too many very fast cars running a T-56 6spd...

Usually they have THM-400 conversions... (theres exceptions to every rule, a 10 second impala ss still uses the 4L60E, but needs a new one every 4 passes lol)

I'd say if your concerned with going faster and consistant, go auto, nice big stall, shift kit, build the tranny a bit.... I still use the 4L60E, and spray my way into the 12's with it, hopefully 11s soon. When it goes I will convert to THM400 but not until it goes.

But the 6spd is 100x more fun on the street and usually makes the car sound cooler exhaust note wise.
