What Rubber should I get for my stock rear in my M6? I've searched the archives

After having my first trip to the track I'm having better traction the next I go.

The 18s are not going to be on for my next tour of duty. I'm going to put my stock 16 inch 5 spokes back on the car, but I'm trying to decide what tire to put on the back. Note, this will only ever be used at the track, not for daily driving.

Also I may only make 1-2 trips to the track A YEAR. This year was my first time ever, the closest track is 4 hours away from me.

I see alot of high respect for these ET streets. I have a stock rear end with an M6 so I know this is not something I want to subject the car to on a weekly basis. So, for 1-2 track nights a year, what should I slap on my 16 inch stockers?

thanks,

lbrowne

I ran a 14.7 at the track, 3500ft above sea level.

Turns out the elevation could be a bit higher because of the effects of weather temps at the track..

apparently it can get anywhere from 4500-6000 ft!!!
