What RPM to launch at
What RPM to launch at
I race here and there but never fully launch my car...basically im not sure where i should rev it up to to drop my clutch...usually run some nice street tires and i have a full bolt on car...any suggestions?
Sorry for a lack of actual advice but I'd get some sticky tires first, even if they are track only slicks. Otherwise, your best 60ft time will be by slipping the clutch at it's optimum rpm all while trying to not spin street tires. Could be 2000rpm, could be 5000...It's all in how good you are at slipping the clutch/not bogging the engine/keeping the non sticky tires planted.
Tires that hook hard will let you forget about tire slip and clutch slip. You'll be able to test different clutch dump rpms and see where it does not bog. Depends on power/weight/gearing. goodluck!

yeah ill play around at my jobs parking lot and see what i can do....ill start lower and just work up till i find a sweet spot...oh and dont worry my job let me do donuts in the lot just because the manager wanted to see it.
lol...yeah that would be nice to have at work...but im just trying to get the feeling down more than anything...anyway most of our races are on this side street near my house...dont worry its just some creepy road with no houses or anything even near it.
