Went to the Track lastnight...
WEll like stated i went to the track last night. It was my first time to take this car to the track. It was 82-84* outside, 71% humidity and 804ft above sea level.
I have a 00 SS with Mac headers, cat'd ypipe, QTP electric cutout, MTI lid, 160 stat, powercrap programmer. OH yeah and its a M6 on street tires. I had a hard time launching it, so i ended up just having to launch at about 2k and let if bog. Traction was a real issue for me. I think that the times are kinda sad but i have plenty of room for improvement with my 60ft time i think. Also it was pretty hot and humid. Do you guys think that these are bad times or what? My trap speed seems to be 13.2 second capable, what do you guys think?
60 ft. 2.235
330 ft 6.002
1/8 8.993
MPH 82.34
1000ft 11.544
1/4 13.686
MPH 105.23

Re: Went to the Track lastnight...
I would not say those are BAD numbers considering the traction and weather
The 60' is what makes the run. I would concentrate on that before anything else. Drag radials, lower control arms, pretty much anything suspension that will bolt on at the rear of the car will help get that down. I would do the drag radials and lower control arms first though

Re: Went to the Track lastnight...
I would like to buy radials but i dont race often enough to justify the price yet. I know i could have gotten my times lower...every run i my times went down by about a tenth. I know i could have gotten at least a 13.4 within a nother run or so, it was just getting so damn hot that i just decided to go home. The times kinda make me mad, but its more or less my fault for quitting and not keep goin. Also, i was thinking about raising my rev limiter to 6500 so maybe i could stay in 3rd, what mph would have be at around 6300-6500 rpms , 3rd gear, 3.42's? That should help out a bit i think.
Re: Went to the Track lastnight...
I drive my Camaro on the street with drag radials with 20 pounds in each of them. They are fine for daily driving, when I had to daily drive it. You don't want to get caught with your pants down!

Heat and humidity will kill your numbers.
