saw in NHRA rule book that if you run 11.99 or quicker you need screw in valve stems. is this something new or have they been overlooking that when i'm teched?going on Pinks Allout soon and was wondering about switching them

It's been a rule for many years and is a common item missed on most tech inspections because of where it is in the rulebook.
All tubeless tires must have metal screw in valve stems if running 11.99 and quicker.
Most tire shops should have metal valves stems in different sizes and lengths. The valve stem is a 2 piece design and you must break the bead of the tire to install them. The main part of the stem goes through from the inside with a rubber seal around the stem. On the outside is a nut and rubber seal that screws down on the stem, holding it in place.
You're after something like this which I pulled the picture from Jegs
