U Think I'll Hit 11s????????

i got my pro stars today with nitto DRs. ill be switching the 150s in and taking off the FR sway bar. my old times are in the sig. that time was gotten on radials spraying about 150ft out, spinning, letting of the button, and then going back to it.

im hoping to be able to spray out the gate this time out. oh yea, ill be driving to NC to run at a track thats still open for one last run b4 next season.

wish me luck!!

What are your 60 ft times? And 1/8 mile times?

You'll get nowhere with that attitude hehe

It's possible but it depends on track prep really. You may have to settle for low 12's! Goodluck!

COMNBYU- I say if you can cut some 1.6-1.7 60ft times you might be able to hit 11s, if not you will be really close. Good Luck again man.

thanks man. with no stall and 2.73s i think 1.6-.7s would be wishful thinking even with a humungous shot. if this car is gonna go an eleven, it'll do it on the big end. its got descent mph, just got to get it to hook. the first 330ft is what it will all come down to.

Yea on na runs for me the 330 ft is where my car does the job to make it run 11s. My car runs so good because of the 1.5x 60ft times on na runs. At the big end of the track my car is just pulling along, with just 302 cubic inches it is hard to get good power on the big end of the track when running na.

Godd Luck, I've been trying for a few weeks.

But, I just picked up Nitto DR's today, now if I can only get them mounted.

What is you mph?

I don't think that the nittos are gonna do it spraying out of the hole. The first 60' is the most IMPORTANT part of the run. You need 3:73s, a stall, headers and some BFGs. Thats just my opinion, but we have some of the fastest stock LT1s in the country here locally. Bill Plummer is running consistant 12.2s with just boltons and only a 3000 stall, no spray! So try to get your NA times down and then go real deep on the juice.

well, all i can say is i have HEARD that the Nittos hook just as good as BFGs. i have seen, firsthand, a good friend run a 8.8 @ 160+ with the wheels a foot off the ground on a set of BFGs in a mustang. so, if they do indeed hook as good as people say, i think ill be ok. ive also seen plenty of 11sec F-bodies at the track running Nittos that hook fine.

we'll see. im going to NC to run in a couple of weeks. i guess ill find out then

the fact that I DONT have a gear should help me launching on the spray out of the gate. if i had 3.73s+ i prolly wouldnt be quite as optimistic. i would like to get a gear/stall down the road but im on a REAL budget here so i cant just go off and buy all the bolt ons available or build some extreme stroker motor in search of blistering NA ETs. im going for best bang for the buck. nitrous was first, and a gear/stall will be next if anything. if i can get low 12s/ high 11s like i am, then i figure ill prolly run low 11s with say a 3.73/4.10 and a 3500+stall. thats plenty fast for me especially considering the money im planing on spending and the fact that im trying to keep it very streetable and as close to stock as possible. and if i can run an 11.9X like i am, i may not even do the gear/stall thing. just the fact that i can say ive been 11s with basically a bottle on a 99% bone stock LT1 would be enough for me.

im not trying to be the fastest thing around, i want to be able to show people how MUCH im doing with so LITTLE.

if you're planning to keep spraying, i'd consider a stall and the 2.73s. you should be able to spray out of the hole with sticky tires and cut some low 60' times.

defnitely, a stall should help you out, but the bigger picture is hope you have a 12 bolt, the spray out of the hole will be doing a number on your rear.
