track results

I made it to the track sunday and was not too happy when I left. My best pass looks like this-
r/t .188
60. 2.087
330. 5.789
1/8. 8.842
mph. 81.00
1000. 11.472
1/4. 13.68
mph. 102.06

The car has the mods in the sig. minus the subframes because there are not on yet. but the car has little bs mods like a airfoil, 1le elbow, 160 thermo, tb bypass, maf screen, fan switch. But this is the real kicker, I took out the back seat, front ps seat, front sway bar, jack&spare, mats. I weighted in at 3200 without me in it. I am only 170. So a 3370 raceweight and a 13.6 is all I could come up with. All the other passes I made were 13.8's on 2.1 60's. I thought I would of been good for a 13.5, especially when I saw my car on the scale. I also took off the stb. passes made on 245/50/16 yokohama avs es 100 tires

Re: track results

My car ran 8.32s with a 1.89 60 ft. in the 1/8th with stock suspension and bald 295 F1 Supercars. It was above my expectations.

Re: track results

I don't understand the two answers above, but I am looking for input/opinions on my times. It was 83 f outside for my track times.

Re: track results

Within reason, the ET matches the MPH.

Ya, you can probably get a 13.5 or maybe even a 13.4x out of it. There are many variables when actually quantifying performance.

As a bracket racer myself I really utilize the little TAG weather station I have.

Temperature, Humidity, and Barometric Pressure combine to give me a DA. Over the couse of a normal day racing my ET will vary by .10 to .15 typically and I can dial the car accordingly. I also have to take into account day/night/cloud cover, wind, track conditions, and engine/tranny temperature.

Your 102 indicates to me that you can go a bit quicker. Back when I was running 13.6's I was normally at 100-101 mph.

Is your car an automatic or a standard? If it is a standard you can probably pick up so ET simply by working on your shifting technique and shift points. Also, a sub 2.0 sixty foot will help with ET.

If you went on a street night and had to struggle for traction, you should try a test and tune day or a race day when most facilities usually take more care in preparing the launch pad.

Re: track results

I was at the track in the middle of the day and I live in IL so it is humid here. But I thought after the after all the stuff I have done and the raceweight that I would of ended up with a better time. stock I went 13.97 on a 2.12 60ft. The track prep was pretty good that day.

what does that have to do with this thread?

Anyways, I think your times are about right on. With some sticky tires you should be able to cut a few tenths off at least. Another thing you may wanna try is an exhaust cutout, I have one on mine and I can definately feel the difference. As others have said weather can play a big role, if you really want to see what your cars potential is then you will have to wait for a nice fall day with a low temp and low humidity.

Re: track results

Went back to the track last night, I only ran a 13.7 @102. But I trapped 103 on a 14.0 and a 13.9 so I know there is potential. I am getting a set of nittos drag radials and then I want to see what I will run. I think if I can cut a 1.8 60. I will be in the 13.4,13.3 range? or I am off with that guess?

Re: track results

I think you are right on thinking 13.3-13.4......I have basically the same mods as you do, but I have longtube headers and I ran the time in sig a few weeks ago. I am gonna go to the track on another day and ice the intake and (might) pull the belt off and see if it will run a solid 12.9 @106.xx. I also have a little weight reduction which helps, and you might wanna look into that. You will love having drag radials though, its a whole different ballgame when you can actually hook up outta the hole. I suggest the M/T Drag radials (but only if you are gonna mount on seperate rims that are not daily driven).

it's all about 60 foot times, and a tire.

realistically the best u will prob do is a 1.9 60 foot, and that will bring your E.T. down to the 13.40's.

all in all with your race weight and your mods, i am not impressed. ditch the yok's and get some drag slicks.

what kind of power are you making anyways? yeah i have those ES 100's on my vette, but they are 275's. u need a 275, or a drag radial. those 245's are skimmy bro...

Re: track results

What intake and exhaust do you have?

That is a very light raceweight compared to my pig.

Re: track results

Moroso intake, flowmaster AI 3 inch. I know that the flowmaster sux, I bought a hooker aerochamber to gain some more flow. I know no one is going to be impressed with my times, I think they suck too. I was looking for help/advice to why I am not running better times. As far as power all the mods are in my sig. and I listed the little bs mods in my first post. I would guess if your using stock m6 lt1 dynos(245-255rwhp) I would say I have 15-17hp from the intake/exhaust and maybe 5-6hp from free mods, little stuff. So I would maybe put down 270-275rwhp, I don't really know.

Re: track results

102-104 is right on for your mods. Get a cut-out and a DR or slick on the car and you'll consistently be in the low 13s.

There is no replacement for practice.
