Question These Nitto 555Rs arent hooking like i expected!

I lower the air pressure to 20psi, then burn them for about 10 seconds... It hooks perfect on motor, but they spin off the line on nitrous even if i roll it out some before spraying.... other LS1 owners brag about they perfectly hook while shooting nitrous out the hole but i cant spray before 30mph... But on the other hand, im hookin LOTS better.. Someone also told me about a 500mile break in period before they actually hook like they are suppose to, this true?

Also, when im warming the tires up, sometimes it will still hook and go foward while spinning and an ABS/INOP light comes on the screen... I guess that means a brake sensor or something??

Remove front sway bar, drag shocks and springs, subframes.... Once you have a tire that hooks, you then have to transfer the weight from front to back to handle the increased power level.

I went to the track today and ran 13.5 with 2.2 60' on 555r nittos at 20psi. I spun all the way through 1st gear launching at rpms between 1000-1300. I had trouble hooking through all 4 gears at any rpm above 1500. This is on stock power levels, however my clutch doesn't have alot of play in it.. so I didn't bother riding it out and getting the perfect launch, just dump it. I was sorta hurt that I ran 13.5 because it was a few tenths slower than my previous best. However, I decided to go ahead and do runs with the pressure at 18, 17, and 16 psi. My best run was probably around 17 psi with a 13.3. My 60' time dropped two tenths. The tires hooked much much better. I'd definately look at all the options listed by the guy above, but I'd also say that extra 3 psi off of the tires definately helped alot more than I thought it would. Oh, and btw. My best times came from when I would see noticable smoke and keep it up for a count to 3. When I did burnouts that were too much, I couldn't launch as hard without spinning through all of first. Just my personal experience. I did 14 runs today in really hot weather, and a track with pretty much non-existant prep

I have nittos on my 2002 SS and I was having the same trouble when I first got them. At first I could only cut a 1.9 at best and mostly 2.0 60ft's. But after 500 miles and a 3200-3400 Vigilante , I started cutting 1.7's on my nittos without a problem. Good luck .`
