Tell me about my 1/4 times- Convertible
Ok my car is a 1995 Trans Am CONVERTIBLE A4 LT1
my best et was 13.2
best MPH was 107
best 60' was 1.9
worst 60 was 2.2
* I ran a 13.1 once but i did redlight*
My car has the STOCK cam, nicely ported & polised heads and Intake, 11:2 compression, 2700 stall,3.73's, built trans, unbaffled ws6 ram air, slp headers, loudmouth exhaust, 52mm tb, ported maf, 1.6 rr, and all the little bolt ons and free mods.... oh yea and HYPERCRAP tunning.
For suspension I have BMR SFC's, LCA's, v6 rear springs, poly trans and tourqe arm bushings and no front sway bar.
I have 275/40/17 BFG KD's in the rear wich i put down to 20 psi and i did do small burn outs on the box. Thoes tires hook pretty good on the street but at the track i was spinning badly.
weather was about 65* and the runs were made at lapeet dragway.
So Vetran drag racers how do u think my times meet up w my car and what do u think it will take me to get in the 12's??????

Redlight means NOTHING! Your time was still a 13.1. The clock that record your ET start when you move and end at the end. Once the yellow bulbs are lit you can go anytime you want really. On the yellows, once it's red, etc, your Et will be whatever you run. Your reaction time will be affected in some way but not the 1/4 mile time. Sounds like it runs very well, even on those tires. 20 PSi MIGHT be too low for them, not allowing the center of the tire to use it's tread effectively. 12's next time out maybe with some better tires! A stickier track might get you into the 12's even with those KD's. Every .10 reduction in the first 60 feet usually translates to a reduction of .15-.2 in the whole 1/4 mile so more traction is a MUST HAVE asap. Goodluck!
