Taking my car to the track... any suggestions?

I'm gonna take my 2000 Camaro SS to the track friday night I think. It's an automatic, I was just wondering if you guys have any suggestions on how to get the best times. Weight reductions, anything????? Thanks.

take out some weight, spare tire and jack, back seats......etc. Let the car cool in between runs it will definately help your times. Work on your launch it is the most important part. If you are spinning badly then feather it off the line until you hook then mash it. If you have traction control make sure it is off, it will only hurt your times. Just takes some practice and you will be clicking off some nice lower 13 second times.
