Stock Style Suspension Rules
I'm making plans for some suspension work in the near future, and I'm looking for info on some of the organizations that put on races that cater to stock style suspension heads-up racing. I'm not necessarily looking to chase points in a series, as the car will primarily be a weekly bracket racer. But, if I get the opportunity to make 1 or 2 races, I'd like my car to be legal.
Specifically, I'd like to know about rear frame rail & wheel well modifications, as well as tire width rules. What I'm trying to accomplish is a lowered stance with the tires tucked inside the wheel openings. To do this is going to require installing inner wheel tubs, or modifying the stock ones, along with some work to the frame rails.
Another concern I have is the dash...... The car will maintain the full interior, including the dash, console, etc, but I'd like to replace the gauge cluster with some aftermarket stuff. I wasn't sure if the common stock interior rules required that the factory gauges remain intact.
Thanks in advance for any links or information.

Hey Nick What is going on.It has been a while. (I have been working nights in boston and staying in N.H.)
I beleive you are safe with a mini tub as long as mantain stock pickup points for your suspension. As far as gauges what ever you want as long as it is in the stock dash.
We blew up her 94 bird will be talking with you soon

Thanks Ed !
I know you've done a ton of research on this. If you get a chance one of these days, give me a call.... 866-776-8835 it's toll free. I'd like to discuss this, as well as catch up on how things are going with your projects. (at your convenience.... I know you're busy)

Hey Nick-
Ed pretty much hit the nail on the head. As long as the suspension has the stock mounting points, it would be legal. I know that ARE even 'streched' the rules a little on Wade's car and moved the LCA's inboard, still using the stock mounting points, just on the inboard side.
Tire size is pretty much unlimited, just not too big that the car has to be 'hacked up' to get them to fit.
By the way, which car are you talking about?? The 'Bird? Or is the Camaro finally going to see the light?!?!

Josh,
The Trans Am is going under the knife.
The 3rd gen Camaro is nearly finished, and it has been through so many changes over the years that I'm not changing anything else on it. We're planning on having both cars ready by April.
