Slicks&Tubes And Balancing

You guys try and balance your slicks and tubes combinations? I had mine balanced this past week, the one tire/wheel/tube combo took over 10 oz's to get it to balance .. seems a bit excessive since after one burnout they'll be back out of balance..

I have mine balanced. I get them static balanced and use the stick on weights in the center of the rim. I then cover the weights with duct tape.

10 oz is a lot but I think mine are 5-6 oz.

If they go out of balance after a burnout then you have something else wrong. After I balance mine when I install new tires on the rims, they don't get balanced again until new tires are needed or the weights manage to fall off.

Try rotating the tire on the rim 180 degrees and re-balance. Obviously the tube stays in the same place If it still takes 10 oz. there may be something else wrong.
