Should be a 12 sec car now...right?

I have the cam in and im just waiting for the opertunity to get the springs and 1.6rr in. But my best time last year was a 13.28@104 and that was with some long tubes,3inch cutout, slp cai,3inch y-pipe, msd ignition, and some et streets. since then I have added a 224/236-503/521 on a 114lsa and some 1.6rr. I know this isnt the best n/a cam and is meant for a s/c application. But regardless I should be in the 12's now on some et streets right?. Im still on the stock converter and 3.23 gears. It a 94 z28.

An aftermarket cam really needs an aftermarket torque converter. Put a nice Vigilante 2800 in and you'll be running high 12's. Maybe even mid 12's with the right tire.

Good luck,

Mike

I see not reason why you won't run 12s with that cam. As stated before, add a nice stall and look to run mid to lower 12s.

I do have a slp 2800 converter thats going in as I dont have the funds for a vigi yet. But without the converter and the cam alone I should be in the 12's I hope.

I have that same cam in my car with the mods in my sig. I ran the time in my sig before the lt's and y-pipe. I dyno'd the other day untuned and it put down 308rwhp and 338 rwtq. If it doesn't run a 12 on street tires I'm going to be upset. I should be going to the track on sunday. I'm going to bring the street tires and try and find some et streets and some skinnies to try out also. I'll keep you informed of how I do.

I don't know if I'll be able to go to the track tomorrow cuz of the weather but I'm going to try. As far as hp goes. I fixed the fuel pressure prob. And it put down 343rwhp and 328rwtq. After hot lapping it on the dyno. On a one run pull it put down 344rwhp and 348rwtq with the cut out open.

Thumbs up

I dont see any reason why you shouldnt be able to run a 12 with that cam even with the stock converter. After you get it tuned and get a stall, then you'll be in the low 12's for sure. Good luck!

I think you should get it even without the torque converter. Good Luck.

I hope so, I sure have lost a bit of low end torque with this cam but the way it sounds at idle have more than made up for it. Oh yea and the fact the the mid range and high end feels alot stronger than stock.

Well, I went to the track last night, it was a little humid but it wasnt too bad. The first time out I went on street tires and had a horrible launch with a 2.3 60" time and ended up with a 13.5 but picked up some mph trapping at 106 at the end of the run. After that terrible run, I put on the et streets and did decent burnout on them. I hooked fairly well for a stock converter car and pulled a 2.0 60" and ended up running a 13.20@105 . after that pass I gave up as the line was getting way to long and I by the time I would have gotten up there it would have been time to go. So theres always next weekand...hopefully it will be meant to be.
