Second Time at the Track with my 96 TA what do you think?
Like the topic says, this is only my secound time at the track (1/8th)with my 96 TA. What do you think? Bad? Good? my power mods were
induction: SLP Timing Ticker
SLP CAI
exhuast: Hooker LT
Mufflex off road y-pipe
Hooker Catback
Susspenshion: BMR Boxed LCA
Nitto DR (17psi)
My reaction - .701
60ft - 2.087
330 - 5.768
mph - 81.08
1/8 et - 8.842
What kind of time do ya'll think ill get in the 1/8th if I lower my 60ft to a 1.8 or 1.9? Also what does the equate to in the 1/4th.

The site I went to converted your 1/8 ET of 8.842 to a 1/4 ET of 13.84

I say with a 1.8x 60 ft time you should run some 8.60s in the eigth and some 13.50s in the quarter. Now this is all speculation but I would say that is what it would run, on a good run. Good job. Just practice some more.
Thanks for the replyes, Ill work harder on my 60fts, I do have a problem tho, When I thought I was heating up my tires I was in fact burning up my clutch. My friends said my tires wernt moving at all and all the smoke was from my clutch. Does this mean my clutch is going out or just that I need to back the tires in the water befor a burn out? thanks

. Your 60's should be better with DRs, but the slipping clutch would explain it. I usually pull 2.09-2.10 everytime with not so sticky street tires.
Looks like you will be doing a clutch install this winter. Your 60's should be better with DRs, but the slipping clutch would explain it.
I Just knew my clutch was going! Damn, If it aint one thing it's another
I was hopeing my clutch would be ok. But it's sounds like your right, ill be doing a cluth install this winter! Will it be ok to go the the track one more time? I was also going to put my car on the dyno, is a sliping clutch going to hurt my numbers. If so I wont do the dyno. Thanks

. Luckily, the flywheel was fine, just required a light turning. Just don't try and get some super 1.8 60ft with the DRs. Roll out of the lights and then get it going. The dyno question, really couldn't tell ya. I don't have any dyno experience, but I would say it'll hurt ya. If the power can't get to the ground, then it can't register

Does your clutch slip noticeably when driving around town
How about the ram clutch that holds 400hp for $299 Ive been thinking about getting that one becaues all ill have for mods in the near future is just all the bolts on's. I don't plan on going internal for the next couple of years. One more thing, how much do ya'll think a clutch install will cost me? Thanks again to everyone who responded!
FREE when you do it yourself. I would expect a shop to charge around $350 - $400 for labor though. Heck, if you PLAN on spending $300 plus labor, you could almost have a McLeod street twin. Keep the extra money for other mods.
For the install, look up FUNINA91SS for advice. We did mine, as well as, changed the rear fluid and pinion seal. Total time on the project about 6 hours. That was with taking the flywheel to the shop and having it resurfaced and lunch (1.5-2 hours). Make sure you resurface the flywheel-even if it doesn't look like it needs it. BTW, we put in a Star Stage 2. It seems to be doing pretty good for now (550 miles on it). You will need at least 1 other person helping though. Good luck.
Hey Arron, I will help change your clutch out if you want, since I did mine, with Ronnie. It's easier then you think. The hardest part is getting the top bolts off. So if you want to give a wack at it I'll help yah.
